SOLID STATE COOLING / HEATING SYSTEMS

These are basically miniature Thermoelectric Solid State Cooling/Heating Systems designed on the principle of peltier effect. In many situations in day to day laboratory analysis, need of analysis at subambient temperature arises. The lab chemist has to use either an elaborate and bulky compressor based cooling system or use ice. Both these options have their own disadvantages. These Systems are simple, sturdy & occupy very small bench space. No compressor hence no noise, no vibrations. No Ice, hence the working is not messy. All Solid State design, no moving parts, virtually maintenance free.

These systems are suitable for Cold Tests, to carry out Titration at sub ambient or at elevated
temperatures, to maintain Cell Holder Temperature , viscosity measurement, to cool vials & test 
tubes etc.

Model MCS-E  (E-20, E-30S, E-30L, E-35) :  

To cool Eppendrof vials :

For this purpose Spectra lab Model MCS - E is recommended. In this case, series of models are available depending on the no. of vials the system can accommodate (20 to 35 vials). 
Refer the table given & select the model as per your requirement.

MODEL MCS-150

To carry out titrations at subambient or at elevated temperatures : For this application, Spectralab Model MCS-150 is the best choice. In this case the titration beaker (Dia 55mm max.) can be inserted in the block and this block can be kept at desired temp. Certain titrations, such as diazotisation require temp. around 5º to 6ºC,whereas titrations like SAP value are to be done at elevated temperature Model MCS-150 meets all such requirements.


MODEL MCS-500

To use for large volume beakers of 500ml. capacity (Dia 90mm max.) : Spectralab Model MCS-500 is designed keeping this application in mind. Particularly, for viscosity measurements at 25ºC, this model will be an ideal choice. 

MODEL MCS-1000

To use for cooling / heating plus stirring applications : Spectralab Model MCS-1000, accommodates beaker of 1000 ml. capacity (dia 105 mm max.) & can be kept on magnetic stirrer. Spectralab Whirlmatic Motorless Magnetic Stirrer is best suited for this purpose. In this case the block temp. can be kept at subambient or above ambient & stirring can be achieved by keeping a magnetic stirring paddle in the beaker & keeping the cooling block on the stirring platform.

MODEL MCS-R500 :

To use as a miniature recirculating cooling system : Applications such as this, are very common for 
maintaining temperature of cell holder in Spectrophotometer, Fluorescence Spectrophotometer, Polarimeter etc.  A miniature circulating pump is builtin. Order MCS-R500 for this application.


Optional Accessories :

Test Tube Adapter is provided for Models MCS-150, MCS-500 & MCS-1000 to cool test tubes : Typically we provide adapters for 16mm OD test tubes which can accommodate 4 test tubes for MCS-150, 14 test tubes for MCS-500 & 20 test tubes for MCS-1000. For other sizes, Adapter can be provided on request.
